Creative Gatherings

Creative Gatherings are all about advocacy, policy, placemaking & placekeeping, equity & access, and transforming people & communities. Gatherings are ongoing and range from virtual sessions and workshops, in-person meetings, focus groups, and conferences.

• Create Wisconsin’s Creative Conversations will provide advocacy information and training workshops, to be held every other month (or maybe more) throughout the year.

  • The first Conversation is coming up, to be presentedon Tuesday, January 20, 2026, 1-2 pm and Wednesday, January 21, 2026, 3-4 pm. Click here to register for one of these sessions.

• BUSINESS OF ART CONFERENCE V: The Arts in Community and Business
  April 23 - 24, 2026, Madison
  Presented by Dane Arts
  Dane County Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission (Dane Arts), a primary arts funding arm for Dane County, Wisconsin, invites all artists, educators, and entrepreneurs alike to participate in the fifth annual Business of Art Conference. This year’s theme is, “The Arts in Community, Education, and Business,” celebrating all of the incredible creatives who work so hard to make Dane County a thriving creative community. Attendees will learn about artist-led projects and programs that build community, education programs with an arts focus, and essential business tools to successfully manage and promote their own work and offerings. Create Wisconsin will present a session on advocacy, placemaking, and placekeeping during the conference. See you there!
